Odoo Customisation
Configure first. Build only where the process is a real advantage.
Customisation is a cost, not a feature
Odoo can be extended a long way, and that is exactly why it is worth being careful. Every bespoke module is something that has to be maintained and re-tested at every upgrade.
So our default answer is to configure rather than build. A surprising amount of what looks like a custom requirement turns out to be a setting, a different workflow, or a habit worth changing.
Where a process genuinely is a competitive advantage — the thing you do differently from everyone else — building it properly is worth the money. We will tell you honestly which category yours falls into.
Development that survives the next upgrade
Written as proper modules, versioned and documented, not patched into core.
Bespoke modules
New functionality written as a separate module, so core Odoo stays upgradeable.
Custom reports & documents
Invoices, delivery notes and management reports in the exact format your business or your regulator expects.
Integrations
Connect Odoo to mobile money, banks, e-commerce or an existing system through its API rather than by exporting spreadsheets.
Dashboards
The handful of numbers your management actually runs the business on, on one screen.
Upgrade-safe practice
Version-controlled code with a staging environment, so an upgrade is a planned event rather than a gamble.
Documented handover
You own the code and the documentation. Another developer can pick it up without starting again.
Customisation questions we get asked
Not if it is done properly. We write separate modules rather than editing core, keep everything in version control and test against a staging copy before any upgrade touches your live system.
You often do not. We look for a configuration answer first and will say so if one exists — it is cheaper for you and less for us to maintain.
Yes. The source code and documentation are yours, and another developer can take it over. We do not hold clients hostage to their own system.
Yes, where the provider exposes an API. We will confirm what is technically available from your specific provider before quoting rather than promising in advance.

We will run it against a process you recognise from your own business, and answer the awkward questions honestly.
